Tyson R. Smith | Associate Attorney
A former IRS litigation attorney at the Office of Chief Counsel, Mr. Smith has handled numerous investigations, trials, and settlement negotiations related to federal and State tax difficulties. He spent six years in the U.S. Navy in various leadership and operational roles and served as an employee and labor-relations specialist at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He graduated with distinction in tax law from Golden Gate University School of Law, where he obtained his J.D. and also received his LL.M. in Taxation with Honors.
Mr. Smith is a member of the California Bar and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court, Federal Court of Claims, and the Federal District Courts of California. His practice primarily focuses on Pre-litigation tax assessments, U.S. Tax Court Litigation, Tax Disputes, State of California Tax Disputes, and Partnership Tax Audits.
