Liz is a practicing attorney and the managing director of Moskowitz LLP. She oversees client service, firm operations, and business development. With 20 years of experience at the firm, Liz has helped hundreds of clients facing tax controversies, investigations, and criminal tax charges, and has played a key role in the successful expansion of the firm’s services to clients.

She leads introductory meetings with business owners and other individuals facing tax issues, taking the time to understand the specifics of each situation and assess the best course of action. Liz understands the worry and turmoil that often comes with unanticipated tax issues, and is dedicated to ensuring that clients receive the help and advocacy they need.

Liz has played an active role in resolving tax matters for firm clients for 20 years. She has considerable knowledge of the dispute resolution process, and key determinants in securing strong outcomes: before assuming the role of managing director and becoming a practicing attorney, Liz served as paralegal and firm administrator.

She has contributed to the firm’s work representing both plaintiffs and defendants in front of administrative agencies, in court, and through mediation and arbitration. Her experience with tax controversy matters includes audits, foreign tax disputes, criminal investigations, and SEC matters. She has also been involved with matters related to partnership dissolution, business torts, breach of contract, bankruptcy, and malpractice litigation.

Liz began her career with the firm in 1996. From 1998 through 2005, she expanded the firm’s bankruptcy department from two to six jurisdictions by learning and complying with local rules and requirements for court admittance, developing a network of local counsel to facilitate relations and make certain court appearances, and developing new clients in the jurisdictions. This required developing a network of attorneys for appearances and home town practices, forming relationships with local Trustees and staff, and developing internal procedures for handling bankruptcy matters, including database administration, billing and time records.

Over the years, Liz has been able to experience a diverse mix of litigation cases representing both plaintiffs and defendants. In addition to being involved in the firm’s tax practice, other career highlights include legal malpractice litigation, partnership dissolution, business tort, breach of contract, marital dissolution, State Bar Defense, in-house human resource matters and resolution, development of firm practices and procedures, H1b Visa applications and appeals, mediations, and local and national arbitration matters.
