Commercial Litigation
Our client was sued in a Washington state court for allegedly marketing fraudulent securities in the amount of $400,000. After making an entrance in the case pro hoc vice, our attorneys removed the case to a federal district court where they believed they could achieve a more favorable verdict. Prior to trial, our client faced a very aggressive opposing counsel who attempted to misuse the court ordered discovery process. Our attorneys were able to prove the opposing counsel misuse of the discovery process and requested the court sanction the opposing counsel. The court awarded our client a portion of the attorney fees that he incurred defending against the practice of this over zealous attorney. Approximately three months before the scheduled date of jury trial, our attorneys successfully engineered a settlement in which our client only paid $25,000 to settle this case.
